Sponsored Kidney Dialysis Center
Representative Works

The foundation was named after Princess Evangeline Ebasa,
because her exemplary life of charity inspired use to care for the
less privileged. The foundation's main focus is to facilitate access to
kidney dialysis and provide consultation and referral for kidney
transplantation. When possible the foundation assists with dialysis at
our facility however, services are not available at this time. The
success of the foundation to encourage COBE laboratories of
Colorado USA to donate kidney dialysis machines was a major
contributing factor for the establishment of public dialysis facilities in
many State owned hospitals in Nigeria. The current frontier is the
prevention of kidney related disease through appropriate use of
prescription medication. The foundation is sponsoring legislative
action on prescription drugs, public education on use of
over-the-counter drugs. The foundation also encourages regulation
of herbal remedies through a researched national pharmacopia and
training, to reduce side effects of these remedies especially
complication of end-stage renal failure. The foundation also sponsors
lectures on salt reduction in foods and healthy eating campaigns.
Food labeling is one area that the foundation thinks would reduce
intake of high sodium diets. The foundation collaborates with others
within our system on campaigns to create awareness of high blood
pressure and high cholesterol diets. The foundation is working on
developing a transplantation laboratory and support for training of
nurses and specialized surgeons through international exchange
programs at the new facility when completed.
